Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now widely used across many industries.
But concretely, what is AI and how does it work?
AI is based on computer models: programs capable of learning from data to solve specific problems.
These models can be compared to true digital apprentices: they analyze thousands of examples to understand the characteristics and differences within the data.
For example, to differentiate barley grain varieties, the model is trained using thousands of labeled images.
It learns to identify visual patterns and to adjust its parameters in order to improve the accuracy of its predictions.
Once trained, the model is able to analyze new data and automatically classify grains, simply based on their images.
